Jill designed, pieced, appliquéd, and quilted this 50" x 50" quilt that's easy enough for a confident beginner. She appliquéd flowers with star centers on four of the 12" blocks, but you could also add the appliqué to the remaining five blocks. The templates for the appliqués do not include seam allowances, so remember to add a scant ¼" seam allowance if you plan to hand appliqué. For both block variations, refer to the cover photo for Jill‘s fabric combinations or mix and match the pieces to suit yourself. To finish, you‘ll add the 2" sashing strips and cornerstones and a 3" outer border. For a larger quilt, just add more blocks to make it rectangular. Sew three blocks together with sashing strips and cornerstones and omit the outer borders to make a table runner that measures 16" x 44", or make a longer table runner that measures 16" x 58" with four blocks, sashing, and cornerstones.
