Mother Goose
by AmyBarickman
Mother Goose and friends take center stage in this enchanting quilt design by June Pease. The vintage illustrations of Mary LaFetra Russell are showcased in the panel design that creates the quilt’s focus. Card Trick blocks combine cheerful coordinate prints – ginghams, dots, stripes and rosebuds - to create the side frames. These prints are used again in both the square and rectangle frames while motifs cut from the tonal toile are set inside the square-in-a-square corner blocks.

The panel can be hand or machine quilted using outline and/or trapunto stitching. Card Trick blocks can be echo quilted within each individual “card” while the square and rectangle frames would look nice with a simple cable or diagonal crosshatching.

The 57” x 63” size makes this ideal to use as a nap quilt. Or – put a sleeve on the back and hang to make it the focal point of a baby or toddler’s room!
