The blocks from the panel are set individually in this collage-style quilt by Cyndi Hershey.  Pieced pumpkins in varying sizes combine with sunflower and bud blocks to complement the images in the panel blocks. Striped frames are added around each panel block to define and separate them from the pieced blocks. Simple half-square triangles are sprinkled here and there to a touch of visual rhythm and balance. The five quilt sections are joined together around the center sunflower block with partial seaming. The outer border uses two directional prints with two strips from each that are cut across the width of the fabric.  As a result, both prints are easily oriented in the correct direction in each border.

Pat Burns provided the machine quilting and used a lovely overall leaf pattern – perfect against such a visually active quilt design! The 58” x 64” size makes this ideal to display over the back of a sofa or hang on a large wall as a focal point for any room!
