Happy Holidays! Welcome the season with this warm and inviting design by Ann Weber using this new Christmas fabric collection. Machine quilting was provided by Cheryl Kotecki. The 66” x 76” size makes it ideal for draping over a sofa and pulling up to keep warm while writing Christmas cards in front of the fireplace. The two-block design creates an interesting visual effect based on the interconnecting of the two separate blocks. Basic rotary cutting techniques combined with simple piecing will have you completing this quilt in minimal time. Bonus! You will learn an interesting technique that is used to cut the parallelogram units that are included in the diamond block.
With the vibrant fabrics and dynamic design, using an overall quilting pattern will help to bring all the elements together for a cohesive result. However, you may also want to consider using a lovely design with soft curves to quilt in the diamond blocks. Balance by quilting straight-side diamonds in the square centers of the star blocks. Outline quilting the ribbons in the border fabric would look terrific and add lots of dimension to the outside edges of the quilt.
