Tea Rose Garden
by Red Rooster Studio

Jean Ann Wright and Jan Crandall teamed up to make this appealing 66" x 83" floral quilt. They have allowed enough yardage for you to fussy cut six 12½" flower motifs for the center squares. The templates for the flowers, buds, leaves, and stems on the appliquéd blocks are full size. Machine appliqué six
A blocks and six B blocks using matching or contrasting thread. Then, cut four small triangles to square off the corners and piece ten triangles to square off and frame the sides of the quilt. Be careful sewing and pressing the triangles so that you don't stretch the bias edges! Sew on the inner border and, referring to the quilt photo, fussy cut the outer border strips before mitering the corners.

To finish, sew the blocks together in diagonal rows as shown in the quilt diagram. Jean Ann and Jan selected the colorful paisley for the quilt back and the multicolored stripe for the binding, making this quilt almost as pretty on the back as it is on the front. Add a bed skirt from the stripe, and stitch some pillow shams to complete the ensemble. If time is short, but you love the appliquéd blocks, make a table topper from just four of the appliquéd blocks or a table runner from three blocks.
