A's, Bee's & Dandelion Seeds
by Jacqueline Paton

Jackie designed the fabric collection and made this charming
36" x 39" wall hanging to illustrate one way to use her alphabet panel print. She cut the nine letter blocks at 6¾" so that the printed stitching lines around each letter block remain. The tenth block on the panel is a label for your wallhanging with three wavy dashed guidelines (drawn by the bees, of course) for you to write on. Jackie sashed the letter blocks with the dark rust dots and alternated the gold and green checks for the cornerstones to complete the center unit.

The remainder of the wall hanging is a series of borders. Note that the letter border strips are sewn to the top and bottom only. To make these borders fit, you'll fussy cut moon, beehive, and ladybug images and add them to the letter strips. To make the wallhanging larger or smaller, adjust the number of borders or cut them wider or narrower. To finish, quilt in the ditch around the blocks, sashing, and borders. It will be hard to resist adding some beads to the bees and flowers and some embroidery around the edges of each block, using the printed lines as your guide. Don't forget to sew that cute label to the back!
