Pearl P. Pereira of P3 Designs designed, pieced, and quilted this lively 42" x 52" wallhanging to celebrate the fun of Halloween. The pieced owls, pumpkins, center cat, standing cats, and the appliquéd moon blocks all finish at 10", and the smaller blocks finish at 5". You’ll need to enlarge the moon, bats, spiders, and pumpkin faces by 200%. While some of the eyes are fusible, you’ll need gold buttons for the center and corner cats’ eyes. The center and corner cats also sport bow ties that are gathered and sewn on with double-stacked black and orange buttons. Try sewing on the buttons with a contrasting color thread or floss for a little extra flair! You’ll also need black embroidery floss to Chain Stitch the spiders’ strings and orange floss to Stem Stitch the cats’ whiskers. If you like, add a little spooky sparkle by applying Hot Fix crystals to the owls’ eyes on the outer borders. Not enough time to make the wallhanging? Mix and match the 10" blocks for a festive table runner, or make placemats by adding a border or two. Download Pattern (1 MB pdf file)
