What a fun lap quilt to make for your favorite little one to curl up in and find the pairs of creatures boarding the ark ”two by two“! The quilt design, piecing, and pattern for this 48" x 64" quilt is by Laura Blanchard and the machine quilting is by A Needle Runs Through It. Use a 12½" square acrylic ruler to select and fussy cut the five 12" (finished size) Noah’s Ark motifs you like best. Note that only the center square features the ark with a rainbow emerging from the clouds. Jim’s signature patchwork star prints are used for star points and cut and pieced together for one of the top and bottom borders. Quilt in the ditch, and then outline the arks by machine with a variegated thread to finish. Add an easy-to-piece pillowcase from the ”two by two“ toss, and band it with the bright rainbow stripe or the cute check and dove print. Just wrap the quilt in the pillowcase, and you have a wonderful quick gift that’s wrapped and ready to deliver!
