Jackie designed both the fabric collection and this charming 76" x 76" quilt. Carol Lewis pieced the top, and Lisa Teichmann machine quilted it. There are three variations of the 18" blocks. Block I has rust star points, Block II has brown star points, and Block III (in the center) features four fussy cut rectangles, two with roosters and two with chicks. You‘ll also fussy cut the four squares with crows for the corners of Block III. Jackie added a strip of “grass” beneath these crows from a green stripe in the border print, but this is optional. She has provided a full size template which includes the ¼" seam allowances to simplify cutting one of the triangles from a directional fabric. Complete pressing instructions are included for the blocks, lattice strips and cornerstones, borders, and the four border cornerstone blocks. Try machine quilting in the ditch on the blocks and lattice strips and a simple free motion meandering stitch on the border stripes. For a quicker project, make just two of the 18" blocks for the front and back of a roomy tote, or omit the lattice strips and make an 18" x 54" table runner! Download Pattern (616 KB pdf file)
