Florrie's Favorites
by Froncie Quinn
Our charming quilt from Florrie‘s Favorites reproduction prints was designed and pieced by Jean Ann Wright. Shannon Baker did the longarm quilting. The blocks, which finish at 18" when the red and blue triangles are sewn on, typify the large-scale blocks of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Jean Ann‘s step-by step instructions lead you easily through block construction, beginning with a simple 9-Patch center. At 73" x 98 ½", this versatile quilt fits a twin or long twin bed. You can adjust the sizes of the four borders to make a full-size quilt or add another block to the length and width to fit a queen size bed. The second border is mitered here to showcase the stripe, but quilts of earlier eras did not typically have mitered border - it‘s your choice! To finish, quilt in the ditch for the blocks and borders and try some free motion meandering or a classic feather pattern on the red and blue triangles.
