This 69" x 69" bed-sized quilt was designed and pieced by June Pease and machine quilted by Pamela Burnham. Five borders, starting with a narrow border to frame the center block, surround the easy-to-piece 22" square Trip Around the World-style center. Next, there’s an 8" wide border which features the scenic print with children in vintage costumes at play, a pieced border of half-square triangles, a pieced and mitered narrow stripe border, and a wide floral stripe for the outer border. For the border’s corner blocks, you’ll sew a narrow pink stripe to a blue stripe. Then, using the full size template, cut the pieced strip into four triangles for each block, and sew them together to form the corner tiles. To machine quilt this yourself, try stitching in the ditch along the borders and in the center block and free motion meandering to enhance the wide scenic print border.
