This very pretty 85" x 99" quilt was designed by Robert Callaham and machine pieced and quilted by Carolyn Boden. This is a scrappy quilt featuring 12" star blocks and 6½" wide borders. With just squares and half-square triangles to cut and piece and no set in seams, a confident beginner could piece this quilt. Just remember to keep the outer points of the star dark so the star shape will stand out. You can emphasize the inner star by selecting dark fabrics for those triangles or you can let them blend in with the other fabrics - it's up to you! If a 30-block quilt seems like too big a project for you, make a nine-block wallhanging with 4" borders instead. Even quicker, make a three-block table runner and let the sashing become the border. This would also be a beautiful runner done in seasonal or holiday prints for gift giving! Download Pattern (1 MB pdf file)
