Designed and made by Gudrun Erla and machine quilted by Rita Kroening, this 48" x 48" quilt makes a nice wall hanging or table topper. Her complete sewing and pressing instructions ensure that even a confident beginner can tackle this quilt with success. The pinwheel blocks have lots of half-square triangles units to stitch so accuracy is important. Your own color preferences can be easily substituted into Gudrun's fabric requirements. For a baby girl or boy, simply use pink, purple, and yellow or blue, green, and yellow in place of the wine, gold, and dark blue fabrics. Or, select red, white, and black for a contemporary twist. Check out our new Masquerade collection for retro florals, snazzy stripes, and lots of dots in red, white, and black. They would be wonderful in this pinwheel quilt! For a faster project, make a table runner. Piece just three of the 10" pinwheel blocks, add a narrow border to "float" the pinwheels, and bind! To finish, machine quilt in the ditch and add some free motion stippling in the setting triangles.
