Stitch up Pearl Pereira‘s 48" x 62" lap size pattern with its pair of cute pieced cousins surrounded by sheep and chickens, and a stack of birdhouses in country reds, blues, and yellows. To add the finishing touches, hand or machine appliqué the round openings on the birdhouses and the hearts on the corners of the borders, and embellish the cousins and critters with little black button eyes. Too much piecing for you? Then piece just the two cousins, who each finish at 13" x 19", add borders from a coordinating print, and bind for a small wall hanging. Or, add as many cousins as you like! To make a table runner that finishes at 13½" x 36" for your country kitchen, simply sew the row of three chickens together, and cut and sew 2½" wide strips from a red or blue print for a contrasting border. Easiest of all, make a quick and cozy throw from the collaged master print and quilt right on the lines that separate the motifs.
