This charming 68" x 82" quilt, designed and pieced by Laura Blanchard, is just right for a boy’s room or summerhouse. The lighthouse vignettes are spaced perfectly for fussy-cutting the 12" center square and outer triangle blocks. Laura’s clear instructions make piecing the cute sailboat and fish blocks easy and fun. The on-point accent strips can be sewn on by machine or hand appliquéd. To lengthen the quilt, just add a wider strip of the lighthouse border stripe to the top and bottom of the quilt. Make an extra boat block for the pillow and trim it with sew-in rope cording for just the right nautical touch. The sides of this 16" box-style pillow are ruched, so you’ll need to buy an oversized 18" pillow form to make the sides billow out. Add one or two of Jim’s wonderful folk art lighthouses to complete the theme!
